Murder, Inc. The Story of the Syndicate by Burton B. Turkus
Published by Farrar Straus & Young (1951)
First Edition Second Printing as stated on copyright page and dust jacket flap
Dust jacket is unclipped but has multiple tears, I would put it in only fair condition
The book itself presents very cleanly but on close examination has a small dent and a tear to the top back of the spine (see photos)
Page block is clean as are the pages themselves (no writing or torn pages)
Rare to find in any condition, really.
Tells the story of the Syndicate, the mob's firing squad that was responsible for over a thousand murders. The story is told by Burton Turkus, the Brooklyn assistant D.A, who listened to the killer's tales and sent seven to the electric chair. Together with Sid Feder, a veteran journalist, they produced Murder, Inc., the definitive work on the most dangerous group of gangsters the law has ever known. It was this work that exposed the Syndicate to the eyes of the world.
